Kentucky’s phone attention wants more options when it comes to finale simple phone use opposite the Commonwealth.

Opponents of due legislation contend those changes would come at the responsibility of customers, generally the elderly.

“There are seniors right away that have to decide, do I take my medicine, do I mangle a tablet in two or do I eat?” pronounced Executive Chair part of of Kentucky’s AARP, Charlotte Whittaker.

If Senate Bill 135 passes, advocacy groups for seniors, like AARP, says the check would harm seniors in Kentucky.

“My 92-year-old mother could not hoop a cell phone,” pronounced Whittaker.

Under the bill, phone companies, similar to AT&T, wish the option of finale land line phone services.

“Which presents a problem,” pronounced 13th District Representative Jim Glenn.

This concerns lawmakers and groups who contend simple phone use hasn’t phased out completely.

“Some of these services offering by the phone association are not finished indispensably on a profitability basis, it’s there to serve the open in sell for the corner they do have,” pronounced Glenn.

Glenn says phone companies are endangered about losing income in territories where land lines aren’t used much. In farming Kentucky, residents unequivocally need a land line or they can’t stay connected.

Whittaker says it’s a open reserve issue.

“That’s what is there when they need 911, any kind of assistance or service,” pronounced Whittaker.

Whittaker says they’re also endangered about low income family groups who can not means a dungeon phone or internet in their home.

“I consider by operative together at the same table, people will be able to come together for a check in a integrate of years,” pronounced Whittaker.

Whittaker hopes the check could find improved center belligerent for everybody involved.
