If you have ever wondered only how strong your mechanism is underneath the hood, Microsoft has a built-in feature in Windows Vista and Windows 7 that measures the hardware’s capability. Called the Windows Experience Index, the apparatus analyzes multiform of the computer’s hardware components to beget a “base score.” Microsoft says these base scores can be taken in to care when shopping new programs to run on the machine.

To see how your mechanism ranks, go to the Start menu to Control Panel. In the Control Panel’s poke box, type “performance” and click the ensuing Performance and Information Tools link.
